Students must have completed at least 2 hours of an intro to sewing course and or are comfortable threading their machine. Please contact the studio if you are interested in participating in this class but do not meet this requirement and we will help coordinate a private or semi-private class. Students will need a sewing machine at home, access to a printer and basic sewing kit (including fabric and paper scissors, a seam ripper, measuring tape, fabric chalk, 2-3 bobbins, a zipper foot, an invisible zipper foot and at least 1 colour of thread).
Fabric, notions and supplies not included. Student must provide these items.
International and out of province students are welcome!
Students will grow their sewing skills and confidence as they complete projects and learn techniques at their own pace from home. Beginner students will work on seam allowances, learn new sewing terminology and be given lots of opportunity to practice and improve their accuracy. They will learn to use some of the basic features of their sewing machine while completing fun beginner projects. Intermediate students will be offered PDF printable patterns and projects to choose from and will work at their own pace. Projects vary depending on age and skill level but can include stuffies, accessories and a variety of clothing.
